Football Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions

The Gunners' 10-game victorious run came to an end by the Black Cats before the global hiatus, however will the Premier League frontrunners recover against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against AI, readers and a variety of special visitors.

In week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' new album, the new release, is out on Friday.

Football and Parenting Life

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of several Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a charity game the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I will not push football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their Saturday soccer side," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our team for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for their star's return from fitness issues but their offense is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be fairly tight, though. Burnley are disciplined and their only home defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two games - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear strong again.

West Ham's sole away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno was still that team's manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - will it be West Ham extending their run under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season started, but they have impressed a few observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four matches.

A family member advised me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably score again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much success on the road this season, and the Seagulls are always strong at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the break but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality proves to be rather tight. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.

Fulham have have plenty of talent in their squad but it still feels like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

As for the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.

The away side's display in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not witnessed anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to back the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the close of last month.

But I am not choose that. Instead, I truly need to carry on going against the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's home record, the sole side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a bad streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard fixture to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
