The City of Angels experienced citywide celebrations after the Los Angeles Dodgers won a nail-biting seven-match World Series championship. Supporters worldwide joined local residents in celebration, marking the initial time in a quarter-century that a franchise has secured consecutive championships.

Victory Parade Attracts Massive Turnout

Local events included a procession through the city center on the morning of the parade, a ticketed rally at Dodger Stadium, and spontaneous parties throughout the city.

Social media videos depict countless of Los Angeles residents flooding downtown streets, many carrying homemade signs and team flags. The squad was seen traveling proudly on a open-top bus through the crowds, raising the championship trophy proudly.

“My focus is already about the next championship we’re going to do this,” Shohei Ohtani remarked through an interpreter.

The parade route concluded at the stadium, where the team emerged to the rapper’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ providing music and the artist cruising a Pacific blue classic car around the field.

Early Celebrations and Player Reactions

Festivities started well before the procession, with Dodgers fans lighting fireworks in the streets of the city center on Sunday night.

The World Series MVP, awarded the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, commented directly about the victory.

“Losing is not an option,” he said. “I love the Dodgers. I love Los Angeles.”

Varied Responses and Community Spirit

However, the team owner received a less warm reception at the rally. Video footage from the gathering appear to show Walter taking the stage to a combination of applause and jeers, with jeers interrupting his address.

The World Series acted as a bright spot in what has been a challenging year for the city. An estimated quarter-million people showed up to the Dodgers’ victory parade last year, and according to Dodgers player one athlete, supporters this year showed as much if not more support.

“It seems it’s nearly twice from last year,” Freeman said. “The supporters are incredible. It’s truly amazing to be a part of this.”
