The British tennis star achieved the biggest success of his career by rallying from a lost first set to defeat top-ranked player Carlos Alcaraz 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the second round of the Paris Masters.

Although he had earlier defeated Alcaraz on two occasions, this triumph marks Norrie's initial success over a reigning world number one.

"Huge. So big for me," said Norrie, who is now the fifth UK male player in the record books to overcome a global number one. "Coming back from health issues last year, I fell in the opening stage of qualies here. I just aimed to embrace my performance in the second half of the year. To secure a victory like this, it's the greatest success of my career, my first win over the top player and likely the most in-form athlete in the sport right now."

The British player, ranked 31st globally, also ended Alcaraz's supreme streak of nine straight final appearances and 17 successive Masters 1000 wins, which was the finest stretch of results in the Spanish star's developing professional path.
