Salah Offers Regret to Teammates, Reveals Curtis Jones

Jones has disclosed that Salah apologised to the entire Liverpool squad following the controversy from his public comments.

The Incident

He was omitted from a European match after criticising the club and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had broken down.

“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, please accept my apology.’”

Arne Slot has refused to reveal on whether he got an explanation from the 33-year-old forward.

Team Unity

The player stated that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “He was his usual self, his demeanour was positive and we all treated him normally,” the midfielder explained.

Jones also noted that a teammate fighting for a place is a positive trait. “I understand there are specific approaches you can express yourself,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just sit out, then I think that’s more of an issue.”

Team Form

Liverpool's form have stayed unbeaten in the games following the interview fallout. Jones believes the Salah's words were not designed to destabilise the squad.

“If passion has boiled over, it has consistently come from a desire to win,” he finished. “That chapter is closed and we’re gelling well as a team, getting results and securing victories.”
